On April 18, the White House hosted Cuban Day “to “recognize” the contributions of the Cuban-American community to the United States and “highlight the Biden-Harris administration’s commitment to Latino communities.”[1]
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, a Cuban American, delivered remarks as did two other Cuban American officials in the Administration: Navy Secretary Carlos del Toro and José Javier Rodríguez, an assistant secretary of the Department of Labor..
At the end of the event, renowned Cuban pianist Chucho Valdés performed.
