He worked for railroads his entire working life in IA and St. Joseph, MO. After retiring in 1914 he and his wife lived in Pasadena and Long Beach, CA.
401 03/17/13 George Edwin Brown and Jennie Olivia Johnson Brown He was born in Lime Springs, IA on May 30, 1876, and married Jennie O. Johnson on March 4, 1903 in Ottumwa IA. He worked for the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad. He died on September 29, 1931 in Ottumwa.
Marian Frances Brown Krohnke was born April 24, 1906 in Ottumwa IA. She was the valedictorian of her high school class and studied for two years at Des Moines University, after which she moved to Perry IA where she taught school. On June 15, 1926 she married Ward Glenn Krohnke in that town. In the late 1930’s they lived in Farmington IA. During WWII they lived in Fort Madison IA, and c. 1944 moved to Des Moines IA. Circa 1949 they moved to his home town of Perry. She was an Assistant Libraian and Head Librarian in the town for many years and took coursesabout library science in the summers at the University of Iowa. After Ward’s death in 1967 she moved to her home town of Ottumwa IA and later to a retirement community in Albert Lea MN where she died on Nov. 29, 1992.

Jennie Olivia Johnson (Brown). Born on Feb. 28, 1881, in Ottumwa IA. Married George Edwin Brown on March 4, 1903 in Ottumwa. Died in Ottumwa on Dec. 9, 1945.

My Krohnke Family Ancestors
Claus T. Krohnke (Kroehnke) and Antge Krohnke (Kroehnke). Lived and died in Germany.
Johann N. Krohnke (Kroehnke), born Nov. 26, 1839, Holstein, Denmark. Emmirgrated to U.S. c. 1867. He denounced allegieance to the King of Prussia, Oct. 9, 1867, when he applied for U.S. citizenship in Davenport, IA. He was granted U.S. citizenship on March 7, 1871. In 1881 he owned the first grist mill in Keystone IA. and was a member of the local fire department. In 1890s  he was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and the  Turner Society.  On Dec. 26, 1871 he married Elizaberth Heyer in Pickaway, Benton County IA. She was born Oct. 13, 1847 in Krofdorf (near Giessen), Province of the Rhine, Hesse, Germany. She died May 11, 1913 in Benton County, IA.
Alvin J. Krohnke (AJ) was born Aug. 30, 1872 in Benton County, IA. He was a train dispatcher and station agent for the Milwuakee Railroad. He married Indiana “Anna” Keenan in 1898; she was born Oct. 24, 1876 in Warren County, Illinois and died Dec. 29, 1971 in Perry IA.
Ward Glenn Krohnke was born Aug. 26, 1900 in Herndon IA. After graduating from Perry High School (IA) in 1918, he enlisted or was drafted in the U.S. Army, but was honorably discharged after the Nov. 11, 1918, Armistice. He married Marian Frances Brown on June 15, 1926, in Perry. In the late 1930’s they lived in Farmington IA where he worked for a monument company. During WWII he worked for a munitians plant in Fort Madison IA, and c. 1944 moved to Des Moines IA where he worked for another monument company. Circa 1949 they moved to his home town of Perry where he purchased an interest in the Perry Monument Works and where he worked until he died, Aug. 26, 1967.
